Where to Get the Best Burger in Knoxville

If you’re buying a home for sale in Knoxville, you probably already know that there are several great restaurants right here in town – but where can you get the best burger in Knoxville? Check out this list of our local favorites.

Where to Get the Best Burger in Knoxville

Some of the best restaurants in Tennessee are located in Knoxville, so if you’re looking for a great burger place, check out:

Here’s a closer look at each.

The Burgers

The Burgers
3701 Sutherland Avenue
865-339-4103

The Burgers is a great spot for a big, juicy burger that you’ll be talking about for days (we know because we’ve done it!). They’re not just about burgers, either – you can enjoy a Knox Dog with chili, caramelized onions, mustard and jalapenos, a chicken sandwich or a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, or spring for a salad or dessert.

Stock & Barrel

Stock & Barrel
35 Market Square
865-766-2075

Stock & Barrel has a location in Knoxville and one in Nashville – and it’s easy to see why. Their thoughtfully sourced burgers are, hands-down, some of the best in the city. We recommend kicking off your lunch or dinner with fried pickles or crispy ‘shrooms, too; they’re both amazing.

Balter Beerworks

Balter Beerworks
100 Broadway Southwest
865-999-5015

Balter Beerworks is a scratch kitchen brewpub – and while they may be known for their amazing selection of craft beers, we’re focused on the burgers (for now). The Balter Burger is one of the best we’ve ever had; it comes with black pepper mayo and Sweetwater Farms cheddar, and it’s amazing. They have a number of other menu items, too (try the gruyere grilled cheese or the brewhouse burger).

Sam & Andy’s Fountain City

Sam & Andy’s Fountain City
2613 West Adair
865-281-9539

Sam & Andy’s Fountain City is the oldest restaurant in Knoxville. Established in 1946, it’s no wonder they’ve had their doors open for so long; once you’ve had one of their burgers (our favorites are the Vol Burger and the SEC Burger), you’ll know exactly why. This cozy spot has a pretty extensive menu of other items, too, including pizza, pasta, chicken, salads and more.

Not Watson’s Kitchen + Bar

Not Watson’s Kitchen + Bar
15 Market Square
865-766-4848

We wanted to know too: Why NOT Watson’s? You can get the whole story here, but in the meantime, think about heading that way to enjoy their organic, farm-to-table menu offerings. From fried green tomatoes to chimichurri flat-iron steak, you’ll find something for any occasion… but the burgers are the main point here. All their half-pound hand-pattied burgers are made from premium grass-fed black angus beef. We recommend the Parisian or the Ole’ Smokey, but you’ll definitely find a favorite of your own on their extensive menu.

Inskip Grill

Inskip Grill
4877 North Broadway
865-357-1554

Inskip Grill offers more than 50 burgers and sandwiches on their menu, so we’ve had a hard time pinning down a favorite – but we’ll still try to make time to try them all. So far, the Popcorn Sutton Burger and the Farragut are at the top of the list! The menu is incredibly extensive, so take your time and pick out your fresh combo… you’ll be glad you did.

MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes

MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes
7301 Kingston Pike
865-474-1641

MOOYAH is a chain restaurant, and although we love supporting local business owners, no list of the best burgers in Knoxville would be complete without including it. The service is fast and friendly – and they even deliver.
